#DisneyTipTuesday: Annual Pass Black Out Dates

Hi fellow TampaMomRuns readers! My name is Yvonne, I am friends with Jessica and much like her, my family and I have Disney annual passes. Recently friends from out of town came to Orlando and wanted to see us. Our passes were blacked out at the time, but we still wanted to take advantage some Disney fun! Here is what we did:

Stay at a Disney resort. From check in to check out ,you get some of the Disney magic during your stay! They always have pools as well as activities during the day and evenings that the entire family can take advantage of! There are crafts, dance parties and trivia games. All resorts also have playgrounds and arcades that are quite reasonably priced.

Disney has special deals (especially for Florida residents) during the summer and various times during the year. We found a pretty good deal at one of the moderate priced resorts. We sprung for the moderate resorts because they have water slides, which my 5 year old could not get enough of.

Take advantage of the water parks. I’ve been to Disney at least 20 times in my life, but I’ve never once gone to one of their water parks. Holy moley was it a BLAST!! There is a ton for everyone to do, even if you are like me and pregnant, I was still able to lounge in the lazy river and enjoy the wave pool. My husband and daughter had an absolute blast on the water slides. In true Disney fashion they have special areas for super youngsters as well as thrill slides for the older kids (and kids at heart). They also had special “surprises” like a game of “pick up” with the cleaning crew while we ate lunch.

Play mini-golf. Do you know there are two mini-golf locations on Disney property? Yes! Why not take in a round?

Disney Springs is a treasure trove of fun! Think Disney Springs is just shopping? Think again! There are activities, concerts and shows too! Many stores have activities for kids to play and most of the restaurants are themed to entertain as well as fill your belly! We ate at Raglan Road (tip: make reservations as soon as you can as they tend to fill up fast) and not only is the food wonderful but the Irish dancers and singers were spectacular!

One tip: Take advantage of credit card points. We use the Disney Visa card. I cashed in a bunch of my points so most of our meals as well as tickets to the water park were “free” (or as my husband pointed out…”prepaid”).

So next time your passes are blocked out or you just want a fun family get away without all the park hassles, head on over to Disney and take advantage of the adventures you may have never done!
