What NOT to do on race morning!

These will seem fairly elementary, but I have done or watched someone do all of them!

  1. Do ANYTHING new! No new food, shoes, drinks, or gear!
  2. Forget something. Plan ahead the night before and lay out everything that you need to run – shoes included!  I made this mistake once!
  3. Not set an alarm.  It would be a shame to train, plan and prepare for a race only to miss it
  4. Assume your travel time.  In Tampa, I like to think I can get anywhere in about 30 minutes, but that isn’t always true.  Keep in mind there may be more traffic than you would suspect at 6am simply due to the race that you are heading to!
