Many of you have heard my story, but I think it’s time to share it again!
At the end of 2012, my best friend from middle and high school ran 3 marathon in 50 days to qualify for Marathon Maniacs (at the time I had no idea what that meant!). Many of you have met her or have seen her pictures in my posts… Caitlyn! I was amazed at what she was able to physically accomplish during that season.
Fast forward a few days to my Parker’s first birthday. Up until that point since being pregnant, I had been behind the camera taking pictures of our new baby. At her party, a sweet student of mine took pictures so that I could focus on her party! It was in these pictures that I saw how much weight I had kept after having her. I decided it was time for a change and after the start of the new year in 2013, I ran my first couch to 5K run on January 16th.
Three years later, I’ve completed 14 half marathons, 3 full marathons, a handful of sprint triathlons and numerous other race distances. It’s not about what I’ve been able to do but what my body has allowed me to do beyond what my mind thought I could.
Thank you for being apart of the last three years! Look forward to all that year number 4 has in store for this crazy runner!!
