Tampa Coffee Club

I received the best box in the mail about a week ago – it was locally roasted coffee, delivered right to my front door!  No Publix trip needed!

The Tampa Coffee Club ships on a monthly basis to your home or office for only $23.99 you will receive 3 – 5oz bags of coffee each from a local roaster.  With each shipment comes with a small card that gives you the story of the roaster.  See the card that came with my July box!

The funniest part of this whole process for me was that David and I are ‘spoiled’ with our Keurig easy coffee K-Cups.  We do not own a grinder…. and I have never grinded coffee beans on my own.  When the Tampa Coffee Club box arrived at my house, I realized that in each of these adorable bags was whole beans.  They smelled delicious, but I had no idea what to do with them!  Hubby to the rescue!  A quick trip to the store and we are now the proud owners of a coffee grinder!

The entire experience was filled with smells!  The box opening… the bag opening… grinding the beans… brewing the coffee… It was amazing!  My favorite flavor so far has been from the Blazing Bean Roasters!  The McIntosh family takes care to package recently (within 48 hours) roasted coffee and share with you.  They are a local Tampa family with a passion for good coffee and local small businesses.  From their partnerships with roasters to packaging facilities, they care about our local Tampa Bay Area community.

As an added bonus, the McIntosh family is an active family.  They are apart of several local running and triathlon groups.  As I have learned over the last two and a half years – runners are good people!

Now… we are not ditching the Keurig, we are utilizing the “pack your own” cups that are easy to pack and rinse clean. But I will confess that I didn’t realize how flavorless and bland our coffee had become by using the Keurig cups.  I was amazed at the amount of flavor that we had been missing out on (and no telling what chemicals, etc are in the pre-packed K-Cups)!

Now – you want a monthly box of local coffee do you?  Check out their Website and Facebook page for additional information on ordering!  Packages are shipped on the last business day of the month, so hurry to get in on the August shipment! I’ve already got my order in!

*** I was provided a free month of coffee to review and share this amazing local service with you. All opinions are my own.***

Yum!!! I have a grinder and used to always buy whole bean, but then I also was spoiled by my Kuerig! I love that these are all from local roasters. I may need to try them!

So fun! I love to hear about local companies like this! Definitely going to give them a try.

My household went from a non-coffee-drinking household (gasp), to a Keurig, to a French Press and now a pour over house. Coffee is as much a journey as any good food or drink. Learning more is just a great part of the adventure!

What a great idea! I never buy coffee anymore because I don’t like the idea of committing to one flavor or company at a time. This definitely solves the problem and will ultimately save me a lot of money by avoiding the expensive trips to the coffee shops.

Store bought k-cups are roughly 1/2 ground coffee (who knows how old since grinding) and 1/2 instant coffee of questionable pedigree! I do not know if they add chemical stabilizers or not, but we have been grinding our own coffee for many years…ever since we could get still hot out of the roaster coffee beans at Whole Foods in downtown Austin, TX.
As a p.s., do you know that light roast coffee has the most caffein? 😮

Have you tried preparing your freshly ground beans in a French Press? Yum. My favorite method.
