Holiday Party Coffee Bar Ideas

Want to add something new to a Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas party? Why not a coffee and hot chocolate bar?

During my visit to Melitta a few weeks ago, they had an adorable holiday coffee bar set up for us not only to enjoy but to see how one could be set up.

In the picture above they feature a pour-over method for the coffee, but you could do this in several different ways.  You could have a Keurig coffee maker for folks or simply a large drip coffee pot for them to utilize.  The benefits of the pour over or Keurig is that everyone can choose their flavor versus a large pot of coffee where everyone would have the same thing. See below how they have a few different kinds of coffee for their guests to choose from.

Don’t feel like you have the ‘nack’ for hosting a cute little coffee bar like this?  Me neither! So here are some helpful suggestions to make your table presentation look cute!  I will add one to this list – make little signs for your mix-ins!  You don’t want to have to answer “What’s this?” twenty times!

So I gave the Coffee Bar a try at my office for a Regional Meeting this last Monday – but gave it a Halloween flair instead of a Christmas flair.  Some people didn’t care for the mix-ins and are simply black coffee people, but those that did try some of the mix ins or extra treats really enjoyed it! Here are a few photos – remember office setting, so nothing super fancy – if I can do this, anyone can!

I utilized a book shelf in our kitchen and re-purposed for my mix-ins and extras!  Some chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, pumpkin spice chocolates, chocolate hazelnut pirouettes, biscotti and fun Halloween sprinkles.

Over by the coffee pot I had some delicious muffins and put Halloween plates (there were more muffins… guess I didn’t get a picture with all of them!)

We utilized our Keurig machine in the office for ease of use.  I have added the pour over method at home on occasion, but everyone at the office is familiar with the machine and didn’t require me to an “attendant” of the coffee bar.

So what about you… Think you could do this? Or have you hosted one before?

  1. I wish it were cold enough in Tampa to enjoy hot chocolate more often. This is a great idea to keep in my pocket for our brief colder spell in December.
