Tonight I finished day four of the couch to 5k program. I downloaded the app, changed some of my diet and registered for my first 5K in late February! Yes, I’m crazy and I haven’t left many ‘off’ days in my training schedule, but I’ve got to have something to work towards. So the Gasparilla 5K on February 23rd will be my running debute!
I ran day one two times. The first day was tough. We made the mistake of trying it at about 3pm in the heat of the day. I also didn’t listen to my music, which in the last three days has been all that has kept me going!!
Well, two things…
First, I am not in bad shape, but I know that I am about 15 pounds from being at the same weight when David and I met almost 6 years ago. I want to be the best version of me I can be, For myself and for my family.
Second, my best friend Caitlyn. She ran three marathons in the last few months. How inspiring! She’s in the best shape of her life and I’m ashamed that I can’t even run for longer than 2 minutes without wanting to die!
